Information Security Policies

Al Hannah keeps no sensitive data in insecure locations. Sensitive data is well guarded in a physically and logically secure environment. Our network professionals are on call 24 hours a day, and systems are monitored against intrusion 24 hours a day. Don't be fooled by a picture of a lock - if your data is mishandled, it's only an image of security that you are presented.

Electronic Data Security
Al Hannah uses Secure Sockets Layer when accepting user information (Address, Credit Card Number, etc..)
This is a fairly "strong" method of protecting your personal information. Here is a brief description of how safe your data is when it is submitted to Al Hannah:

Depending on your web browser, the connection is either "40 bit" or "128 bit". 128 bit being the most secure. What "40 bit" means is this ~ your "session" (connection) with the secure server has a "key" (similar to a password). The length of the key is the number you see (40 or 128) - "40 bits" means "40 binary digits" 40 bits has 1,099,511,627,776 possible keys (2 40 = number of possible keys), so this is fairly secure. 128 bits has 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 x 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 possibilities (2 128 = number of possible keys). It is estimated that it would take a hacker 1 trillion x 1 trillion years to extract your information from a 128 bit secure connection (using current computer technology.) 1 The only way for your information to be extracted from the "session" is if our secure server decrypts it.

Now, at this point - I expect that half of the readers are confused, and the other half are totally lost! Let me explain the security of SSL in plain English: Your information is very safe when you enter it into our system. So much work would need to be done in order to use your information, that by the time someone was able to get it out ... it would be useless, and chances are that the person would be long gone as well!

Physical Data Security
Data is not secure unless all aspects of the data are secure, one easily forgotten fact is that your data may be insecure on location if it is not treated correctly at all times. All unneeded physical information is destroyed after use. Access to our computer systems as well as sensitive customer data is restricted. So, you can rest assured that your data is kept safe after it is delivered to us, as well as while it is on its way.

If you have any questions about our privacy/security policies, feel free to e-mail us .

For additional information on SSL, please visit VeriSign's website and read their publication "Guide to SSL". This will provide a more in-depth look at the SSL protocol.
